Front Page Band.
The local band composed of poised music lovers from Bacong came about because of their passion for music. Mao tu’y giingon nga gusto sila ug music, unya nasamtan pa jud kay ang music, giganahan pud nila. J
Anyway, I was privileged enough to have personally known each of the group members.
Unja ug ang okasyon pasko, New Year ug uban pa, naa jud ni sila mag bugang-bugang kanunay.
When Front Page started to carve its name, everyone had their eyes and ears on the group. Mag concert baya pud tu sila….daghan pa jud malingaw.
But Front Page has disbanded. Maoy giingon pud ug ‘it ended before it began’…
The members just had to move on…
Diha bitaw pud tu’y usa ka gabii nga nagtapok mi’s among natad.. kami ra gud mga barkada, unja ga-recollect mi sa mga panghitabo niadtong panahon sa among kabatan-on. Then all of a sudden, the topic was changed from Front Page to just the single word ‘barkada’.
Barkada was the new word for Front Page. For the Front Page Band, its name may have died down, but the memory of the friendship that was built along with the band members is worth remembering.
Indeed, Front Page Band was the band of the town…. They had accomplished so much despite the little time that they had. They had their own little world.
