Christmas is here once again. People from all walks of life, far and near, consider this occasion as the joyous season of the year. It brings forth peace and unity among nations of the world and all of mankind. As the whole christendom rejoices with the advent of Christmas, our very own CORTESANON website, doubtless to say, is of no exception. Allow me to give some perceptions, salient ideas and values being a CORTESANON as regards to the meaning of its name. Don't you know that each and every letter of the word "CORTESANON" significantly stands for something related to Christmas? C: C stands for Christ. Jesus Christ is the crowned king of heaven and earth. He, being the anointed one is the greatest and sweetest gift from heaven to mankind. And all this happened during the first Christmas, the birth of Christ, the king of kings! O: It stands for Offering. Christmas is the time for giving and receiving. It is said that a gift without a giver is bare - it's meaningless. For those who give, it must be straight from the heart. For those who will receive, be it big or small, may they learn and have the will to accept with appreciation, the way we did when God gave us his begotten son as his gift during the first Christmas. R: stands for Reverence. When Jesus was born in Bethlehem, He was adored and revered by the three kings, the shepherds and peasants, the whole world rejoiced with adoration and admiration. The three kings gave gold, myrrh and frankincense as gifts while they kneeled in front of Jesus. When we worship God we kneel down on our knees with so much humility. A bended knees in adoration to God will keep you in good standing in the kingdom of heaven forever. So, let's adore and admire Jesus. T: "T" stands for True Majesty! We celebrate Christmas - the birth of His Highness, the most supreme, his majesty - the Infant King. Together with this occasion, let us pray that all the majesties, the kings, the emperors, the presidents and leaders of other nations throughout the world, will rule over their people and subjects with royal dignity and authority, for peace and prosperity, for and in the name of his highness - his true majesty, Christ the King. E: It stands for Earnest Desire and Inspiration! Life without ambition is like a boat floating without a rudder - it moves aimlessly without any destination. Before the birth of Jesus, the world was living in vain. When He came during the first Christmas, He has paved the way of our destiny. Through his gospel, teachings and miracles, the lives of people have changed positively. They now live with ambitions and aspirations. They now live with certainty. S: It means Sympathy! Throughout the world, there are countless people who are suffering from hunger and poverty. We can behold naked children roaming in the streets in cities begging for alms. May this Christmas these unfortunate children be the beneficiaries of our kindheartedness, sympathy, and compassion. Love emanates from kind hearts. A: A stands for Absolution and Apology! Christmas is the time to forgive those who sinned against us and to ask for apology for hurting other's feelings. In the true spirit of Christmas, let's all learn to forget and forgive the shortcomings of others. Remember, to err is human and to forgive is divine. Christ has absolved all our sins. N: N stands for Numerous Ideologies and Inspirations. An ideology is a very strong and firm conviction and belief which gives inspiration on the part of the believers. Jesus Christ is idolized and worshipped as our God. He is deemed as the redeemer of our sins. That's our ideology. He first came to us during Christmas, when people are in the midst of sins and darkness. God's love is a candle in the dark. No matter gloomy our life maybe, just one little tough of his love is enough to bring warmth and light that gives us the inspiration in life. O: Our family. The first holy family, came to be during the first Christmas - Joseph, Mary and Jesus. May all our families treat our children with tender love and care, as exemplified by the holy family. Let there be undying love, mutual understanding, as gifts to our children and let the message of togetherness be the bond that will bind us forever. Let's pray always. A family that prays together, stays together. N: it stands for Natural Kiss and Naive Kids. A kiss is a gentle touch or contact with the lips as a sign of love and affection. We use to embrace and cuddle our kids and kiss them without ceasing as our happiness seem to swell and knows no bounds. The Virgin Mary lifted her baby boy into her arms from the manger and kissed the infant Jesus with tender lovingness. This Christmas let us all hug and kiss our kids with utmost love and care, like the way the Virgin Mary did to the Infant Jesus. Merry Christmas!!! |
